Vintage Collection by Uzoma Samuel. One of Nigeria’s mostinnovative master painters, Uzoma Samuel is a prolific artistand photographer who inspires viewers by continuallyrevolutionizing African fine art. Uzoma was born in the IMOState and graduated from the Department of Fine Art and Design,University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. Uzoma’sunique style of portraiture displays his exacting expertise andartistic brilliance. His rigorous method involves placing piecesof textile on the canvas, ultimately matching colors, shapes andtextures to create strikingly beautiful facial images. Uzoma’sapproach to art was inspired by his mother, who worked as aseamstress. As a young boy, Uzoma played with the discardedscraps of her sewing. This was his first contact with fabric,the medium that he would explore for years to come. Uzoma is amember of the Society of Nigerian Artist (SNA) and currentlylives and works in Lagos State, Nigeria. His works are includedin many public and private collections.
